Nitrogen was discovered by chemist and physician Daniel Rutherford in 1772. Daniel removed oxygen and carbon dioxide that the gas left would not support combustion or living organisms. At the same time there were other scientists who were working on the problem of nitrogen such as- Scheele, cavendish, priestly and others. they called it burnt or dephlogisticated air which meant air without oxygen.Nitrogen is found in foods, organic materials, poisons, fertilizers etc... Nitrogen is colorless and odorless which means has no smell or color. Nitrogen is an element that pretty much freezes anything it comes in contact with. Those are the basic ideas of nitrogen.
